Fun in the Sun
DESCRIPTION: The Turtle has become THE summer party place in the 'burgh. Students, locals and visitors alike flock to the restaurant which boasts indoor and outdoor seating, bars and live music right on the water. The food and munchies are huge and affordable and the drinks are great. Try the Long Island Iced Teas--best around. The Turtle is the perfect place to meet for after work drinks or party up all weekend. Don't miss out!

Location and Drinks - Not Much Else
DESCRIPTION: Waterfront location is its attraction; the food is definitely not. The bar can be fun and there is a good mix of people; however, the food and service are just awful! Being a local person, I have given this place several chances, only to be disappointed each time. Stick to the drinks. On the plus side, for a small fee you can dock a boat and access this waterfront location via Lake Champlain.

Rather decent
DESCRIPTION: Ate here recently and was pleasantly surprised. Although this may be a bland-looking hotel restaurant, the food attempts to go beyond the frozen Sysco crap and generally succeeds. I had a pork dish with an interesting cranberry/olive sauce. The sweetness of the sauce with the pork gave the dish an Asian twang. Unfortunately, the green beans were frozen. They were high-quality frozen veggies, but still bland. My wife had the shrimp scampi and had no complaints. My daughter had a tasty bowl of hambuger&macaroni soup that was thick with veggies as well. The meal also came with good ciabata bread and olive oil. The bar looked decent, and had Saranac brews on tap. Service was attentive.

The Best Food Eva
DESCRIPTION: Arnies is some of the best Italian food you will ever eat. Don't let the bar downstairs frighten you from climbing the stairs to culinary heaven. I moved to Maine 15 years ago but always make a point of eating at Arnies with every visit to the north country.

Arnie's has History.
DESCRIPTION: Arnie's has been a Plattsburgh mainstay for many years. It is popular with the older folk and those reminiscing during a return visit to Plattsburgh. The food is fine, but nothing special. Offerings are not much more than an upscale Pizza house. Service is very good and friendly, as many patrons are regulars and know the staff personally. The restaurant looks as if it was frozen in time from when it first opened.
