Miracle Soup
DESCRIPTION: This is one place that I will visit every time I visit New York. Some friends of mine and I were tired from a long day, feeling very run down, but wanted to go out that night. We stumbled upon Boxers and sat down and had some of their chicken noodle/vegetable soup and I kid you not, it revived us like nothing else ever has! A natural high! The soup tasted like heaven, but the way it made us feel - oh my goodness, it was like a taste of heaven! We actually ended up coming back for more soup. In one night, I think we had 5 or 6 bowls of that soup ... it was THAT good!!!!!! When we refer to it, we call it "Miracle Soup". I think the name should officially be changed to "Miracle Soup", because that's exactly what it is. Besides the soup, the staff and the whole ambiance of Boxers was excellent!!! When we left that afternoon, we quickly came back and stayed until the place closed! Thanks Boxers!!!

The Best Wings and Fries Ever
DESCRIPTION: Matthew's has the best waffle fries I have ever had. This is a classy restaurant with fantastic food and a great looking bar. From the Del Monico Steak to the Bacon Blue Cheese Burger you will be very happy! Mondays is their $.25 wing special!

Fun in the Sun
DESCRIPTION: The Turtle has become THE summer party place in the 'burgh. Students, locals and visitors alike flock to the restaurant which boasts indoor and outdoor seating, bars and live music right on the water. The food and munchies are huge and affordable and the drinks are great. Try the Long Island Iced Teas--best around. The Turtle is the perfect place to meet for after work drinks or party up all weekend. Don't miss out!

DESCRIPTION: Waterfront location is its attraction; the food is definitely not. The bar can be fun and there is a good mix of people; however, the food and service are just awful! Being a local person, I have given this place several chances, only to be disappointed each time. Stick to the drinks. On the plus side, for a small fee you can dock a boat and access this waterfront location via Lake Champlain.

200 Fifth an Excellent Restaurant
DESCRIPTION: My waiter was very helpful. He recommended the chicken Parmesan. The service was not as quick as I hoped but it was very crowded. When I recieved the food it was very hot. The mashed potatoes were very rich and creamy. There was a large portion of chicken Parmesan. It was very tender. The bathrooms were a little cramped but they were clean. The ambience was not only romantic with the candles lit but, it is also a place where you can take your family (with crayons and toys to keep the children busy). There is an area with a sports bar but the restaurant is very large so the sports bar doesn't distract you. There is no need for reservations but I would recommend getting there early because there was a 10 minute wait. Overall, it was an outstanding experiance and I would recommend it to anyone!

Just 2 Chill
DESCRIPTION: I just love this restaurant/bar. I work in Red Hook and I go there on ocassion after work with my boyfriend or friends. The atmosphere is super friendly, but not all in your face. The crowd is really easy going and mixed. In the years I've been going there, I have never, ever seen any altercations. When you go there you must try the "chicken saltimbocca". It is a very excellent dish. So is the "shrimp scampi with linguine". Even the linguine tastes like shrimp. You have never tasted a Red Devil until you've tasted theirs. It is excellent. I have all my friends hooked on it. This place is so cool, you can either sit to eat and drink, or just sit and drink. They don't hassle you or force you to buy dinner. They have Latin Flava!

Have These People Ever Been to 200 5th?
DESCRIPTION: I live right near 200 5th; the truth is that this place has absolutely no class whatsover. The clientele is bad news...especially on a Friday or Saturday night, or during any of the big games. In six years of living here, I've witnessed a knifing, countless fights (in the bar and out front - cops arresting people, with ambulances in tow, are not uncommon), and even a shooting. 5th avenue has become one of the most desirable parts of Brooklyn, with the exception of this place, which is caught in a time warp and has managed to preserve the worst characteristics that defined the neighborhood for over a decade. I also know firsthand (I used to work there), that sometimes when they run out of beer that s popular, rather than turn it off, they just plug the hose into the closest thing they have in the basement. Hence another person s review of the suspicious HopDevil. It makes perfect sense. The owner knows nothing about beer or how to serve it. His goal is to "get it out there", and lots of his clients can't tell the difference. The food is unexceptional, especially when you compare it to the crop of outstanding restaurants that has popped up on 5th Avenue, and the service is awful. Sorry to be so harsh, but that's the real deal.

200 Iis The Worst Place Ever, Sorry To Say
DESCRIPTION: I've been to 200 for the first time. I went with my 2 best friends. We were sitting down trying to have a good time when out of nowhere this guy just came up to one of my friends and slapped her across her face for no apparent reason at all. That was the most terrible situation anyone could ever go through. Instead of the bouncers kicking him out they kicked us out; why they didn't kick him out I don't know. Probably because he was a regular at the spot. The food was horrible; the service was awful. My drink was disgusting. I mean I don't understand why in the world is this place still in business.
